Our Philosophy
It is better to serve great food at a fair price than serve fair food at a great price.
Sushi Time was founded in Christchurch New Zealand by Kyong Min Gweon – affectionately known as 'Min' to his many friends.
Min wanted to offer food that was fresh, fast and friendly and serve 'great food at a fair price' not 'fair food at a great price'. Using locally produced ingredients wherever possible he made fresh, delicious, sushi style food products that quickly gained a loyal following and an excellent reputation. So Sushi Time was born.
The Sushi Time company grew quickly to several outlets throughout Christchurch. The earthquakes of 2011 unfortunately caused the permanent closure of some stores and we currently have two locations in Christchurch.
Sushi Time recently opened its first Australian store in Perth, Western Australia. We look forward to serving the people of Perth with our unique blend of fast, fresh food and friendly service.
Our Business Model
Sushi Time is different from many other food retailers in that we utilise a 'Just in Time' rapid production system to produce truly fresh food and minimise need for storage. Fresh ingredients are used at the beginning of each service day and no prepared food is ever retained for sale the following day.
Sushi Time will make prepared food from the freshest available local sources and whenever possible will use locally grown and produced ingredients.
Sushi Time prepared foods shall, as much as practicable, be free of artificial flavourings, additives and preservatives.
Sushi Time staff shall work as a team to deliver freshly made food promptly to our customers.
Sushi Time will use modern equipment, standardized processes and continuous staff training to ensure that our products are produced, presented and sold in optimum conditions.
